The Peace River region has a fairly high population of Elks which is still growing every year, making this area to a first class Elk hunting area. We only are allowed to harvest Bull Elks with antlers that have at least on one side 6 points. Hunting season opens at 1st of September, and the rut last from approx mid September until mid of October. Hunting during the rut is a most exiting experience; the sound of the bugling bulls you will never forget. A mature eligible bull will have 6 points on each main branch, and the live weight of such a mature bull is up to approx. 500 kg. The hunt can be carried out from a stand, with 4×4 pick-up truck, ATV, riverboat or as a spot and stalk hunt.

Bull Elks we find in all of our hunting areas, whereas the most eastern and western part have a higher population than the northern part.
